28 Eastern condos by Alterra is a new midrise condo and mixed-use development located in the Corktown neighbourhood of Toronto just to the east of downtown.

The project, including a 12-storey apartment building, is designed by Teeple Architects Inc. and, in the words of the developer, is “inspired by life in all its incredible variations” and “embraces the bright future of what’s to come.” It will stretch along Eastern Avenue and will take up the entire width of the block from Gilead Place to Sackville Street. Inside there will be 379 apartment units of varying sizes plus 16 two-storey townhomes on the ground floor.

According to initial plans, there will be 42 studio apartments, 46 one-bedroom apartments, 127 one-bedroom plus den apartments, 100 two-bedroom apartments, 28 two-bedroom plus den apartments, and 36 three-bedroom apartments. 28 Eastern condos will have approximately 8,300 square feet of indoor amenity space located on the first two floors of the residential tower and the penthouse level. There will also be approximately 8,200 square feet of outdoor amenity space that will include outdoor terraces with BBQs, dining areas and seating areas. The ground floor of 28 Eastern condos will include 10,545 square feet of commercial space fronting onto Eastern Avenue at the southern end of the development. On two underground parking levels there will 136 parking spaces; 144 for residents and 23 for visitors. There will also be 417 bicycle parking spaces located on the ground floor and the two underground levels.
